Vendor Spotlight: EDoubleE Farms
What started as a Bluejacket couple enjoying meals at Piguet’s Prime Time restaurant has turned into a friendship and business agreement that benefits everyone involved.
Cassandra Elliott and her husband, Luis Erquiaga, owners of EDoubleE Farms LLC, moved to northeast Oklahoma about four years ago, and they decided to try Piguet’s Prime Time where they met our owner, Carolyn. The conversation started turning towards business. Cassandra has an accounting degree and has operated several small businesses. Carolyn asked for her help with the restaurant’s accounting and bookkeeping, and the relationship was born. The relationship grew as EDoubleE Farms is now a vendor at the Piguet’s Farm Store. The couple now have twins, which is where the farm name comes from. They went from both having a last name that started with E then they doubled the size of their family, Cassandra explained.
The farm produces a small variety of animals, including chicken, milk and meat goats, and cheese. At the Farm Store, they offer eggs and chicken meat. They have a plan to start offering chicken snack sticks by the end of August, Cassandra said.
“It’s based on what’s selling,” Cassandra said about what they choose to offer in the store. “We had a little bit of everything and had to pull it.”
State law requires that anyone purchasing goat’s milk from them must purchase it directly from the farm, but they are allowed to advertise now that it’s available. They sell their meat, cheese, and eggs year-round from their website. All of the retail products they offer are processed at USDA-inspected facilities.
Their farming philosophy is similar to ours in that they have pasture-raised chickens and love to help others learn about what they do, including through farm tours and classes about cheese-making.
“EDoubleE Farms LLC has an opportunity to be an integral part of your community by producing and providing quality products from our farm, and sourcing the same from other local farms. By purchasing from our small business, a Veteran-Owned and Woman-Owned business, you also support other local businesses,” according to their website. “When we purchase our groceries, our supplies, go out to eat, we try to keep it local as well. You are not only getting quality product, but are also supporting the local economy!”
The farm can also be followed on Facebook.
