Curious about what you can do from home to celebrate your special Valentine? How about an amazing steak cooked at home? Of course Carolyn always recommends buying your meat local in the Farm to Fork tradition. Bar M and 1O Beef are my favorite local suppliers.
Carolyn recently did a segment on Channel 6 explaining what makes a great steak. She also gives out one of her tried and true quick steak marinades. You will love this one. You can also mix up extra marinade to make a lovely side salad.
Recipe:
Sear the steak in butter and olive oil until you get a good sear on both sides. Use a dutch oven or cast iron skillet if you have them.
Put in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for about 5 minutes to finish it off.
Medium Rare is 120 degrees and Carolyn always recommends you use a meat thermometer.
She pairs the steak with a brochette salad of cherry tomatoes and mozzarella balls.
A lovely wine from Zialena Winery in Geyserville, Ca would complete your Valentine Dinner.
